They have a decent amount of padding, and the length and feel are great. They stay in place well. The padding isn't too bulky, so I can comfortably run in them after cycling, which should make them great for a triathlon. For longer rides, I may lean towards something with more padding, but for now these work great. The padding is comfortable and the elastic on the bottom of the legs prevents movement. They hit at about mid thigh. Waist is comfortable too. I wasn't sure about sizing, but I'm 5'6", 135lbs and I ordered a small. They fit perfectly. Got these and they are a good standard, pretty much exactly as I imagined them. Fit is true to size and the legs have grips on the bottom so they do not ride up. Overall, a good purchase!
